Reflection

During the process of creating my very first Digital Resource Unit Site (DURS), there were many thoughts running through my mind. First, I faced a few challenges when it came to creating the lesson activities. I had to find different resources online that were effective in students' learning. I had to keep in mind the different needs of students and make sure to provide clear directions, as well as assistive technologies. Additionally, I had to search for resources and programs that were content-related. At the beginning of the development of my DURS, I truthfully did not know where and how to start even though the outline of what is expected on a DURS was provided. However, I learned that planning ahead of time can save me time.

I believe that it is important to know how to create a DURS for times such as the recent pandemic when schools decide to do virtual learning. If there is a time or schedule for schools to go back to online learning, I can definitely say that I am able to provide and use resources for students to virtually meet their learning needs. Also, I believe that since students are exposed to and are using technologies inside and outside of the classroom, it is important for teachers to be able to use digital resources and have the ability to virtually teach. What I think are the most important aspects of a DURS are the teacher presentation lecture, guided notes, and resources for assistive technologies. Bother the teacher presentation lecture and guided notes are helpful for students to deepen their understanding and have the support and guidance they need throughout their learning. And with the assistive technology resources, all students, especially students with disabilities, are being accommodated.

The section in my DURS that I am aware of needing more practice and guidance with is"Assessment."My reason for this is that I was not sure if the resources or links I chose and included would be effective enough in collecting data on students' achievement and understanding. In contrast, I believe I was able to complete and understand the rest of the sections, such as the "Content Standards & Objectives", "Guided Notes & Teacher Presentation", "Learning Activities", "Graphic Organizer Activity", "Assistive Technology", and "Choice Board etc."

Overall, my biggest takeaway from creating my own DURS was that planning ahead, organizing, and understanding the differences of all students are important and required. The creation of my DURS was an interesting experience I have had in college, and I can confidently say that I am prepared to virtually assist and teach students online!
