Graphic Organizer Activity
In this activity, you will create and use a graphic organizer. It is important to use a graphic organizer to visualize your thinking process and organize the structure of your opinion writing. You will be creating a digital graphic organizer by using Mind Meister.
For this activity, you will be asked a "Would you rather?" question. After choosing one option, you will think about why you chose that and not the other. Then, you will create a graphic organizer to share your reasonings as to why you chose that option.
Would you rather go to an amusement park or a zoo?
Follow the directions below to create your graphic organizer.
Step #1
Create an account by clicking "Sign Up"

Step #2
After creating an account, you will be directed to the home page. On the home page, click "Mind Map."

Step #3
To create your graphic organizer, at the center, type your preference: zoo or amusement park.

Step #4
Click on the orange plus sign at the top right corner to add a bubble. Then, type one of your reasons as to why you chose a zoo or amusement park. Continue to add more reasonings to your graphic organizer to support your opinion. To add more bubbles, click the center of your graphic organizer and click on the plus button again.

Step #5
You should have 3-5 reasons that support your opinion. To spread out your reasons, click and hold the bubble and drag it anywhere around the center of your graphic organizer.

Tips:
You can customize your graphic organizer any way you would like! Customizing your graphic organizer can be done by clicking and exploring the options on the right side.



You can color the bubbles, change the fonts, add emojis, change the style of your graphic organizer and so much more. Try it out!
Structuring Your Opinion
Hooray! Now that you created a graphic organizer to list your reasonings to support your opinion, you will write your opinion with your reasonings in complete sentences by using the hamburger template below:

Introduction: State your opinion.
Supporting details: Choose 3 reasons that support your opinion.
Conclusion: Restate your opinion.
